The VicNode Project is pleased to introduce the new VicNode Collections Manager Jared Winton. Jared is the new point of contact for collections and questions regarding the usage of VicNode storage and services. He will work with researchers, eResearch Centres, facilities and research communities across Victoria to manage, promote and establish collections and services on the VicNode storage infrastructure.

During 2008-2015, Jared Winton worked for Victorian state based eResearch bodies VeRSI (Victorian eResearch Strategic Initiative) and the V3 Alliance. Jared took on a variety of roles in this time from Software Engineer through to managing the Application Services team.

Jared has strong experience in the research sector. He works with researchers, research teams and institutional teams such as Libraries and Research Offices. Jared has delivered projects across many different disciplines from Archeology to Neuro-Imaging and many different institutions and government funded projects such as NeCTAR, RDSI, ANDS and AAF.

Jared’s field of research has been at the University of Melbourne Experimental Particle Physics group as a Research Fellow contributing to the collaboration with the Swiss Light Source, in the area of silicon based particle detector research and development.
