Monash School of Chemistry – X-Ray Diffraction Images

The data collection consists of raw diffraction data images of crystalline materials that are synthesised within the Lab, and which are collected using the single crystal X-ray diffractometers within the School of Chemistry. The data pertains to all crystallographic research conducted in the School, across a number of research groups and topics. The unprocessed data frames will also be stored.

The images allow researchers to explore a number of areas of chemical research, and by analysing these images chemical structural analyses can be identified, tested and recorded. These include complexes with novel reactivity and stable oxidation states for applications in catalysis, materials for gas storage/separation, materials possessing novel magnetic properties for potential data storage applications, novel catalysts for water splitting and fundamental organic/inorganic chemical synthesis.
