VU Sports Research Data Collections

The VU Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living (ISEAL) houses nationally significant infrastructure through its $68.5 million world-class sport and exercise science laboratories; with over 100 core research staff and 100 PhD / Masters students. Until recently, research in the Australian sport sector has been fragmented, disconnected and greatly limited by the lack of a central data register, information exchange, real-time visibility of research activities and an online community presence.

This sport data collection is in the areas of elite sport science and research, talent identification using in-game skill performance outcomes, and sport and physical activity participation.

VicNode will help to address these limitations by utilizing cloud infrastructure to connect researchers with sporting body participants and collaborators, specifically in frameworks to allow the sharing of research and collected data.
